Van Gogh has a Broken Heart: A Review in Brief.

“A Review in Brief” is where I offer my thoughts on a book or story from among the various facets of media, in as few words as I can manage (or as I may deem just considering the story in question).

Van Gogh Has a Broken Heart is not a book of great spectacle or flamboyancy, and I do not believe it was ever meant to be, for often sad stories are never that. This is a beautiful, reflective work of the hearts of both great artists and art lovers. What is it about art that often conjures that solemn feeling within us? Ramsey's answer: the grief behind every stroke that makes a painting beautiful. This book is a book of stories, stories of great artists, heartbreaks, and sometimes even their redemptions. In spite of all the brokenness, this is a book about connection and a longing that points us to our ultimate hope - and such are often my favorite books.

4.5/5 Stars

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves art and story, but more so would I recommend it to someone who does not (or thinks they don't). Good books like this are a cultivation; the good tilling and fertilizing of the human heart, making way for seeds to be sown, grown, and reaped.
