Seeing by the Eyepiece

Seeing by the Eyepiece

To the ones in grieving hour

Who search their heart and find it wanting

Seek no more; end the scour

Be still in quiet Spirit’s haunting

The pain is sharp when knife is dull

All grief weighs heavy ‘gainst the griever

But Jesus Christ can fill the null

And soothe the ache of the believer

To cleave from death, its power to sting

To call this life all vanity

Will make a mere vapor of long-suffering

Seen by the eyepiece of eternity
