The King of the Jews
“To the sinner prone to wander,
To the lost one in his guilt,
I know the man on Calvary,
His blood for you was spilt.
Run to Jesus, Run to Jesus,
He, the high and lifted up.
He can save you, ruined sinner,
For he drank our bitter cup.
Neither death nor life can take you;
Neither king’s nor angel’s power;
Neither time nor all creation;
Can pluck you out at any hour.
He is our city of refuge,
He is our cornerstone,
He is our high priest who died,
He, our king upon the throne.
He is our kinsman redeemer,
He is our gracious friend,
He is our cleft inside the rock,
He, who bears us to the end.
At the right hand of the father,
With his Spirit sent to us,
Sits the one in all his glory,
Sits the righteous Son of God.
Run to Jesus, Run to Jesus,
He, the high and lifted up.
He can save you, ruined sinner,
For he drank our bitter cup!”
